New EU scholarships
The University of Glasgow continues to be committed to ensuring a strong relationship with our existing and future EU students, and supporting EU talent to make their home at the University of Glasgow. We are delighted to announce the introduction of our new EU scholarships for new incoming students.
EU students without settled/pre-settled status
EU students starting a full degree in 2021-22 and beyond, and arriving in the UK after 31 December 2020 will not be eligible for home fee status or tuition fee loan.
In the academic year 2021/22 EU students were eligible for the International Leadership Scholarship and also for the Undergraduate Excellence scholarship. From 2022/23 onwards EU students could be considered for our new:

EU students who hold settled/pre-settled status / UK nationals in Europe
EU students starting a full degree after 1 August 2021 who hold settled/pre-settledstatus:
- Will be eligible for tuition fee support from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS)
UK nationals living in the EU, EEA or Switzerland on 31 December 2020, who lived in Scotland before moving there, and who have lived in the EU, EEA or Switzerland for the last three years before starting their course
- Will be eligible for tuition fee support from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS)
UK nationals living in the EU, EEA or Switzerland on 31 December 2020, who lived in another part of the UK before moving there, and who have lived in the EU, EEA or Switzerland for the last three years before starting their course
- Will be classed as RUK for fee purposes

Visa registration
If you are a national of a country in the EEA or Switzerland, you do not need to book an appointment and you do not need to attend Visa Registration in person. If you have a visa (or if you have settled/pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme), you should be able to view your status online and get a share code. Please give us your share code by completing the form on the UofG helpdesk to allow us to check your status online.

Current students
Tuition fees
If you are an EU Undergraduate student and you have already started at Glasgow (in or before academic year 2020/21) you will continue to benefit from free tuition in Scotland. You are already admitted as Scottish/EU fee status student and will retain that status for the duration of your studies. EU students enrolling in 2020 will remain eligible for tuition fee support from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) for the duration of their undergraduate degree.
Postgraduate research applicants
Information for prospective postgraduate research students from the EU who are considering applying, or have applied, to study at the University of Glasgow.
Tuition fees for EU postgraduate research students starting in academic year 2020/21
The Scottish Government confirmed that fees for eligible EU students commencing their studies in academic year 2020/21 will be at the same level as those for UK students. Eligible students will be admitted as UK/EU fee status students and retain that status for the duration of their studies.
Tuition Fees, Scholarships and Funding for EU postgraduate research students starting in academic year 2021/22 and beyond
PGR applicants from the EU without settled or pre-settled status and who are starting a programme after 1 August 2021 will also be expected to pay international EU fees.
There are some scholarships and funded projects available through each of the separate colleges, and you should contact the relevant college Graduate School to discuss potential opportunities. Further information is available on our scholarships pages:

Erasmus+ applicants
Students from Erasmus partner institutions planning to study in Glasgow
The University of Glasgow will fully participate in the Erasmus Scheme until further notice.
If you are participating in, or about to participate in, the European Union’s Erasmus scheme, you will continue to be eligible for Erasmus grants. This will continue as normal until further notice.
If you are a national of an EU or EEA country, or Switzerland, you do not require a visa for study of less than six months in the UK. You can travel to the UK using your EU/EEA/Swiss passport or national ID card. This will remain the case until further notice
If you are a national of an EU or EEA country, or Switzerland, coming to the UK to study for more than 6 months you need to apply for a student visa through the new student route. For information on visas please visit International student support.
